Close to 300 wannabe rock stars filled the Sears Atrium in Belleville Saturday night, partying profitably on behalf of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation.
The “Legends of Rock” gala raised almost $272,000 for priority medical equipment needed at the hospital.
Much of the money raised, $102,000, will go toward buying 2 new ventilators, or breathing machines, to be used in the BGH Intensive Care Unit.
Provincial and federal governments do not provide money for medical equipment, so local fundraising is of prime importance.
