Fire destroyed a big barn west of the village of Stirling Saturday night.
The Stirling-Rawdon Fire Department was called to a farm at 572 Merrick Road shortly after 6 o’clock.
Firefighters managed to move 25 cows away from danger, but the barn burned to the ground.
There were no injuries.
Tanker support was provided by the Centre Hastings and Trent Hills fire departments.
Hot spots continue to be doused Sunday morning.
The cause is under investigation.
Meantime at around 1 o’clock Sunday morning, the Centre Hastings Fire Department was called to a fire at a house at 804 Lahey Road. Firefighters left around 2:30, leaving the house in the hands of the owners.
Also, Madoc Township firefighters were called to a burning hay baler on Barry Road near the hamlet of Cooper, north of Madoc.
