A three vehicle collision at Lingham and Meyers Streets Tuesday afternoon turned out to be much more than your usual fender bender.
Belleville Police received several 911 calls around 3 p.m. regarding the collision and occupants of the vehicles fighting in the street.
Witnesses reported one male brandished a knife and another a baseball bat.
Police say the incident began minutes earlier when a Lincoln MKX was stolen from a Station Street parking lot.
Several witnesses followed the suspect in their own vehicles and forced him to a stop on Lingham.
It’s alleged the suspect drew a knife when he exited the vehicle but threw it over a fence when he saw he was outnumbered.
It was recovered by police.
Thirty-two-year-old Shane Raymond Keller of Quinte West was arrested on charges of theft, dangerous driving and weapons dangerous.
He was also wanted by Belleville Police on several other charges including assault, weapons dangerous and breach of probation.
He was held for a bail hearing yesterday.
