A local power systems company and a hydro provider are helping turn the lights on in portions of the United States hit hard by Hurricane Irma.
Eight linemen from Tal Trees Power Services of Belleville, along with five bucket trucks start work Wednesday in St Petersburg.
The workers slept last night on cots in a movie theatre lobby, but more suitable accommodation is being arranged.

The Tal Trees crew is planning a stay of 3 weeks in St Petersburg Florida, but if the need continues, the company may replace them with another.
Meantime, Veridian Connections (City of Belleville has 13 percent ownership) has announced they will be heading to Atlanta, Georgia.
Communications Spokesperson Chris Mace says nine linemen and five utility vehicles are currently on their way to Atlanta Georgia.
He says they will work with local officials and offer help in any way possible.
