There are some changes in store for parents who do not want their school-aged children immunized.
In the past, parents have been able to withdraw their children from the program giving shots for various diseases, and still have them attend classes.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health medical resident Dr. Piotr Oglaza told the board of health this week that the provincial government has changed the law, requiring those parents to attend an education session first.

Oglaza says there’s no decision yet on whether they will be private or public sessions.
