The Police Chief of the Stirling-Rawdon force says if all goes according to plan, the OPP will take over operation of Stirling-Rawdon in October.
Dario Cecchin tells Quinte News that current members of the municipal force are to begin training at the OPP Academy next month.
He says if all officers from Stirling-Rawdon’s current force complete all training, they are to be given positions within the OPP, but it is not known if they will join the new larger Central Hastings OPP.
It is believed the current municipal police office will be closing as well.
