The OPP Explosive Devices Unit was called to Odessa on Tuesday, after a resident there found what they believed was an explosive device.
The EDU investigated and found the device was a practice mortar round, so it was removed and passed off to members of CFB Trenton for disposal.
The OPP is reminding people that if you find a device or hazardous chemical that you feel may be explosive, you should contact the OPP immediately and never touch or handle those objects.
OPP EDU members are fully trained and have the proper equipment to safely remove and dispose of possible explosives, ammunition, or other hazardous substances.
