The Belleville Police Service responded to 78 calls for service between August 29th, 2017 at 5:00 a.m. and August 30th, 2017 at 5:00 a.m.
Domestic Assault
On August 29th, 2017 at 9:54 a.m. the Belleville Police received a call regarding a domestic assault at a residence in the east end of Belleville. Upon arrival by police the suspect had departed the scene. Police continued the investigation and later in the day received information that the 20-year-old suspect had returned to the address. Police re-attended and arrested the male.
As a result the male was charged with domestic assault and breaching his Recognizance of Bail. He was held in custody for a Bail Hearing.
Breach of a Recognizance
On August 30th, 2017 at 1:43 a.m. the Belleville Police received a call to a hotel in the north end of Belleville regarding a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot with the driver’s door wide open and no one around. Police attended and while investigating, located a male seated in the driver’s seat of another nearby vehicle in the parking lot. Upon speaking to this male it was learned that he is on numerous bail release conditions, one of which was not to be in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle. Subsequently, the 31-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with breaching his Recognizance. He was later released on a Promise to Appear with an October court date in Belleville.
