The minor baseball season is winding down and teams within the local rep organization put together some strong performances this summer.
Three-of-eight Quinte Royals teams qualified for provincial championship tournaments, including the Major Midget Royals who lost in the OBA finals to London, after an unbeaten run this past weekend.
The Minor Midget and Minor Mosquito Royals will play in their OBA championship tournaments this weekend in Bolton and London respectively.
The Minor Mosquitos made an impressive comeback in their final play down game, scoring nine runs in the final inning to beat Whitby this past Sunday.
The Rookie Royals qualified for their OBA tournament but declined the invitation to play, while the Junior, Bantam, Peewee and Major Mosquito teams didn’t qualify.
