The City of Belleville could approve some big dollars for infrastructure work at a newly purchased municipal property.
Council will consider renovation and demolition of 31 Wallbridge Crescent in the heart of the city.
It will be used for environmental operations, and the temporary relocation of the Veridian property.
The lone successful tender was from Tom Belch and Sons for $2.43 million plus HST, for a finished price of $2.75 million.
With current costs on the site already pushing past $600,000, and council only budgeting $2 million for work, council will need to pull an additional $1.7 million from long term debt to fund the project.
Council will discuss the project Monday at 4:00 pm at Belleville City Hall.
