Two people made the right call by wearing life jackets while riding a Sea Doo recently, but the driver made the wrong one, by having a few drinks first.
The man and woman were riding the Sea Doo in Lake Ontario, near Bath last Saturday, when they hit a large wave and got thrown off into the water.
They weren’t able to start the vehicle, so the woman waited to be picked up by a nearby boater and was taken to shore, while the man swam back to the boat launch, where he was found by OPP Marine Officers and the Coast Guard.
An investigation found that the 33 year-old from Amherstview had been drinking and he was charged with impaired driving.
He has a court date in Napanee on August 29th.
