The mayor of Quinte West is praising the federal government for providing consistent gas tax funding.
Thursday it was announced Quinte West would receive $2.6 million, which will go towards capital projects.
Jim Harrison tells Quinte News when the municipality is looking at long range planning, it helps to know what other dollars are guaranteed to be there.
He says this is a much better way at looking into the future.
Harrison says the municipality will provide the same amount or more from the year before.
