The Municipality of Marmora and Lake is looking to fill a vacancy on council.
Longtime councillor Elaine Jones resigned on July 31 because she’s moving out of the area and unable to finish the last year of her term.
Anyone interested in running to fill the spot can visit the municipal website, or stop by the town office between August 10th and September 6th, to pick up a registration form.
Once the registration window closes, candidates will be interviewed by current councillors, in an open forum on September 12th, with council deliberating as a group to make a decision on a replacement.
That decision is expected to be made by September 19th, with the new councillor being in place by the October 3rd meeting.
Anyone who meets the qualifications outlined in the application package, which you can find at this link, after August 10th.
