A mid-Saturday afternoon fire in Quinte West left a house heavily damaged.
Around 3 p.m. yesterday, Station 5 in Batawa and Station 7 in Frankford responded to the fully engulfed house at 688 Glen Miller Road.
The house is situated on the east side of the Trent River, near Batawa.
Firefighters returned to the scene this morning to douse hot spots in the basement.
At this time, it’s not believed anyone was injured, however one man was living at the home, according to Quinte West Fire Chief John Whalen.
Chief Whalen also added there was $200,000 in damage done to the house, and that the blaze is not deemed suspicious.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
