A 27-year old Belleville man was arrested and charged following a domestic assault yesterday.
Belleville Police officers attended the scene in the west end of the city to investigate. A subsequent search of the man’s backpack led to the discovery of large quantities of marijuana, scales, drug paraphernalia and cash.
The man was charged with one count of assault, breach of probation, possession of a narcotic for the purpose of trafficking, and possessing for the purpose of crime.
His will appear in court Monday.
The victim received minor injuries.
