OPP have laid some serious charges after a lengthy investigation at a Napanee Park Thursday.
Exact details of what happened weren’t released, but officers were called to Springside Park, after a woman was seriously injured by her husband, following an early morning dispute.
The 35 year-old man was arrested at the scene, the woman was taken to hospital for treatment and forensics officers and the Napanee Crime Unit were brought in to conduct the investigation, in the lower parking lot area.
As a result, the man is charged with attempted murder, arson with disregard for human life, forcible confinement, counseling an indictable offense, assault with a weapon and two counts of assault.
He was denied bail Thursday afternoon and will make a first court appearance next week.
His name is under a publication ban, to protect the victim, who was released from hospital after being treated for her injuries.
As of Thursday afternoon the parking lot area remained closed to the public.
