A big, new, and well-equipped family-oriented facility is just about to open its doors to serve Belleville and area residents.
Wednesday, the Belleville branch of the Trenton Military Family Resource Centre will hold an open house for the
public to see what the organization has to offer.
MRCF Executive Director Tamara Kleinschmidt says 85% of local military families do not live close to CFB Trenton and are spread throughout the greater Quinte region, with a good number of them, around 500, living in or close to Belleville.
The expansion into the beautiful 7,000 square foot Belleville branch at 610 Dundas East has been in the works for three years now.
Staff will offer various programs and services for both children and their parents and caregivers alike.
There will be a spacious licensed daycare centre able to handle 49 children.
Kleinschmidt stresses that the resource centre is open to to both military and civilian families.
The open house Wednesday runs from noon until 8 p.m. The MRFC is next to the Belleville Bingo Hall.
