Following news that Quinte Secondary School will officially close, pending a trustee vote Monday, students took to College Street to voice their displeasure Friday.
Dozens of students yelled chants and held signs in support of the school, while drivers honked their horns on the way by.
Rally organizer Kelsie Gallant tells Quinte News, students are mainly protesting the fact that they’d have to split between Moira and Centennial Secondary Schools in September, if trustees approve the accommodation review plan next week.
The rally was similar to one held at Moira Secondary School in late may, which was slated to close at one point during the process, but now will stay open.
