Belleville police are reminding people to not leave cats, dogs, or other pets inside vehicles during hot weather.
Yesterday afternoon, city police responded to the Quinte Mall regarding a dog in distress inside a vehicle.
Officers were about to take the dog to the Humane Society but the dog owner showed up and was warned, with police pointing to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
