After 6 seasons of unprecedented success, the Trenton Golden Hawks will have new faces behind the bench next season.
Quinte News has learned that Head Coach and General Manager Jerome Dupont and assistant coaches Kevin Forrest and Kyle Smart will not return in the fall.
Although there has been no news from the Golden Hawks’ camp, Director of Operations John McDonald says a “major announcement is forthcoming” in the next day or two. Dupont, Forrest and Smart were in attendance at the Golden Hawks’ rookie camp this week.
Dupont joined the Golden Hawks for the 2011-2012 season. In his 6 years behind the bench Trenton won their division five times. They won the OJHL Championship and the Buckland Cup in 2016. The Hawks also claimed the Dudley-Hewitt Central Canadian Hockey Championship in 2016 and 2017 which made them eligible for the RBC Cup Junior “A” Hockey Championship tournament.
