The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board has set its budget for the next school year.
It will total a little over $400 million, up from $386 million this year.
The good news for the board’s finances is that almost 500 more elementary school students are
expected to enter the system in next year, allowing for an increased, yet balanced, budget.
The secondary school level will see a decrease of 232 students next year, but numbers are expected to stabilize after
that.
Fifty million dollars will be set aside for students with special needs, and there is a $20 million dollar capital budget.
