It’s that season again – the blacklegged ticks are out and about.
Quinte Conservation is warning the public about the dangers of the little ticks.
Spokesperson Jennifer May-Anderson says Prince Edward County is a “hot spot” for the insects.
Health unit officials have also found them at the Sidney Conservation area.
May-Anderson says they are a health risk.
Quinte Conservation is sponsoring a public information session on the blacklegged ticks at the Quinte Conservation office on Old Highway 2.
Public Health Inspector Aptie Sookoo will speak about the issues faced by people who spend time outdoors and on the trails.
That session gets underway at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.
