The Quinte West fire department, especially crews from the South Murray hall, have been very busy this morning (Monday).
At about 4:20 this morning, a tractor trailer carrying a load of cars, caught fire on the 401 westbound, west of the Trenton OnRoute.
Quinte West fire crews, along with firefighters from Brighton, put the fire out. At least 4 cars, along with tractor itself, were fully engulfed in flames.
The transport’s driver was not injured.
The 401 westbound at Trenton could still be slow going as a clean-up continues.
Meanwhile, at around 7 this morning, South Murray firefighters were on the move again heading to a house filling with smoke on Loyalist Parkway in Carrying Place, just north of the Murray Canal swing bridge.
The problem there was a smoking electrical panel. The situation is under control.
