You may have noticed a heavy police presence through the streets of Belleville this morning, but it was all for a good cause.
Belleville Police officers and local Special Olympians took part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, raising money for Special Olympics Ontario, on a route from the Quinte Mall down to the Market Square.
Detective Constable Darrell Hatfield tells Quinte News, spirits were up, despite the rain coming down.

Detective Constable Hatfield says officers will be donning their cowboy hats and boots for the Cops and Cowboys event.
Organizers are trying to raise $3,000 this year, to support local Special Olympians competing at provincial and national competitions.
