The federal government has announced several local water infrastructure projects that will be receiving some big dollars.
Wednesday morning MP Neil Ellis and Mike Bossio announced millions for projects stretching from The County to Bancroft, Belleville to Amherstview. The projects were funded federally, provincially and at the municipal level.
Mayor Taso Christopher says millions are coming Belleville’s way to separate storm water and sanitary sewer. He says in the past, it all came through one pipe.

Belleville received more than $3.3 million; $1.36 million for South Park and Strachan Street sewer separation and watermain upgrade. There was nearly $2 million for Cedar and Henry Street work as well. The province threw in $1.65 million and the municipality handed over $1.69 million.
In Prince Edward County, Neil Ellis announced more than $663,000 towards storm drainage improvements for eight different streets. The province invested more than $1.76 million, while The County turned in about $332,000.
Hastings – Lennox & Addington member Mike Bossio announced funding for several projects. All projects were funded from a national, provincial and local level.
