The Belleville Police Service is playing catch up when it comes to some of the fees it charges to produce special reports, criminal record checks, and other services it provides to the public.
Chief of Police Ron Gignac told the Police Services Board that when compared to other police services, some of Belleville’s fees were much too low.
Those will now be increased significantly, and the Chief expects revenue will rise by tens of thousands of dollars.
An insurance company wanting an accident reconstruction report will now have to pay $2,000. for it, a figure that still doesn’t cover the costs involved in producing the report.
