Organizers of the 13th annual Military Family Resource Centre Gala are calling the night a huge success.
Hundreds of people took in the festivities at the National Air Force Museum of Canada, which included dinner, dancing and silent and live auctions.
The guest speaker was Kerry Vance, a retired US Colonel and the wife of Chief of the Defence Staff General Jonathan Vance.
She tells Quinte News, MFRCs across the country do outstanding work in support of personnel at home and abroad.
Vance added, the MFRC touches every aspect of the lives of military families.
By the end of the night, organizers hadn’t tallied up a complete total, but feel they’ve raised close to last year’s total of $142,000.
$25,000 of that was donated by staff and soldiers at 8 Wing, with part of the proceeds coming from the 2016 Quinte International Air Show.
That money is being used to finish off the building of the MFRC Belleville office, opening this summer and phase two of the much-needed Trenton Expansion.
