Centre Hastings issued building permits in April worth about $1.2 million.
That puts the year-to-date building permit value in the municipality to about $3 million, almost double the value through the end of April last year.
The largest permit issued last month was for a new Baptist church on Seymour Street, in Madoc, valued at $750,000.
Chief Building Official Doug Keller tells Quinte News digging has already begun and it’s expected to be a fast build, but there’s no exact date of completion yet.
Keller says the church will be a nice addition to that part of Madoc.
