An inmate has died at Bath Institution in Kingston.
Prison officials say 60 year-old David Gagnier was serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder and attempted murder.
He had been in custody since October 12, 1976 and died on Saturday and his family has been notified.
A cause of death hasn’t been released, but as is the case with all inmate deaths, the Correctional Service of Canada is looking into the circumstances of what happened.
