The weather was far from perfect, but at least it wasn’t pouring, as about one thousand people got some fresh, if cold, air and exercise in two
walks supporting important causes.
Over 700 people registered for the second annual Butterfly Run at West Zwick’s Park. As of late yesterday, it was known $71,000 had been raised to provide help to families stricken with the death of a child during pregnancy or in its infancy.
Final fundraising figures are expected to be known later today (Monday).
And 105 walkers, made up of 21 teams, took part in the annual Mandarin MS Walk in Belleville. Final totals haven’t been tallied, but as of late Sunday, over $22,000 had been raised.
