The City of Belleville has released a report on council salaries and expenses from 2016.
Mayor Taso Christopher was the highest paid, earning over $81,000 as Mayor, another $4,000 as Chair of the Police Services Board, and another almost $21,000 for his position on the Veridian Connections Board.
In total, the Mayor earned $106,000 and claimed almost $9,000 in expenses.
All councillors earned a base salary of over $28,000. Councillor Jack Miller also made an extra $3,000 for his role on the Police Services Board. Councillor Miller did not claim any expenses.
Others not claiming expenses were councillors Kelly McCaw and Jackie Denyes.
Among councillors, Garnet Thompson claimed the most in expenses, at over $3,200.
