Shutout one night….ten goals the next. The Trenton Golden Hawks have coasted into the final of the Dudley-Hewitt Cup with a 10-4 rout of the Dryden Ice Dogs.
Trenton scored five in the first and again in the second with five coming on the power play. It was a 7 point night for Anthony Sorrentino including a hat trick.
Josh Allen added two goals and two assists and Mac Lewis scored his first two post season goals as well.
Also scoring for Trenton were Bryce Martin, Jeremy Pullara and Ben Scheel. Brandon Marinelli added 3 assists. The Golden Hawks outshot the Ice Dogs 52-26 with Elliot Gerth getting his first start in goal.
The news wasn’t all good for the Golden Hawks. Top scorer Liam Morgan left the game in the first period with a separated shoulder. He was taken to T.M.H. for treatment.
Trenton finishes first in the round robin which earns them a day off and a bye to tomorrow night’s final against the winner of tonight’s semi final between Georgetown and Powassan. That game is at 7:30 at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens.
