It was an average month as far as planned construction projects in Belleville last month.
Seventy-four building permits were issued in Belleville in April, for a construction value totaling $5.8 million.
Sixty-five of the permits were for residential development, 22 of them for single family homes.
In April of 2016, more $20 million worth of building permits were issued. The big difference was significantly more commercial building being done in 2016.
So far this year, permits worth more than $29 million were issued for the City of Belleville.
For the same period, almost $34 million in construction projects were approved.
