It’s been more than a year in the planning and now it’s here. The Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canadian Hockey Championship tournament begins today at 2:30 at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens.
The champions from the OJHL, the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, the Superior International League and the host and defending champion Golden Hawks play it out for the right to advance tot he RBC National Championships in Cobourg. Trenton will play the Powassan Voodoos in their first game tonight. G-Hawks co-captain Lucas Brown is from Powassan.
Golden Hawks Coach and General Manager Jerome Dupont says his team has been through this before.

The first game is this afternoon at 2:30 between the Georgetown Raiders and Dryden Ice Dogs.
