Bridge Street United Church was transformed into an Arab style marketplace today (Saturday).
The church’s gym was filled with close to 30 vendors of various nationalities selling anything from clothing to art to jewellery while live music was presented in the church auditorium.
Hundreds of people shopped the market, known as a “souk” and enjoyed the music.
There were long line-ups to sample ethnic foods as well.
The “souk” was organized by the United Syrian Family Support Group, and monies raised will go to help support 5 Syrian refugee families now settled in Belleville.
