Yet another scam has hit the Quinte region.
Sunday afternoon, a resident reported an online scam. A message appeared on her screen that she had a virus. She paid $200 for a subscription to the scammers, however her computer was still locked. She called a number back and told them her computer was still locked and was told she had to pay another $500. That fee was also paid and nothing happened.
If your computer is locked, you are asked to contact local computer companies.
