The Belleville Police Service will officially show off its new fleet look next week.
A special ceremony is planned for Friday April 21, at the Belleville Cenotaph, where the first of the new-look, black, marked cruisers will be unveiled to the public.
Chief Ron Gignac will also be highlighting a permanent yellow “support the troops” ribbon, which will be added to all of the new vehicles, to show the unique bond between the police force and the military community in Quinte.
The cenotaph was chosen as the backdrop for the ceremony, since the BPS has many veterans within its ranks, as well as spouses, children and family members of officers who are in the military currently.
The chief says it’s important to recognize the commitment of current-serving military members and veterans and that the police “will always stand together with our military and support each other”.
