Life jackets are a wonderful thing, and two men are now convinced of that after tipping their canoe on the Trent River early last evening (Sunday).
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whalen says the pair ended up in the cold waters of the river in Frankford but were wearing life jackets and managed to swim to some land jutting out into the river.
Frankford firefighters were there and helped them to safety.
