Belleville Police were a busy bunch yesterday.
Early yesterday morning, a Belleville Police officer conducted a traffic stop on North Park St., and seized a large quantity of marijuana and cash from the driver. Twenty-one-year-old Connor Stone of Belleville had also been drinking while driving. He faces charges of possession of drugs over 80 mgs, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, and proceeds of crime. He will appear in court on April 20th, 2017.
Meanwhile, later in the day, a 44-year-old Belleville man was arrested following a fight on the shoulder of Highway 37, north of Zion Road. He had been drinking while on parole and was forced to return to prison to continue his original sentence.
No charges will stem from the fight.
