Unionized workers with Community Living Campbellford Brighton are on strike.
The strike by close to 100 members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union started just after midnight last night after they rejected the organization’s latest contract offer.
A Peterborough Examiner report says a main issue leading to the strike was the employer’s demand that workers had to use their personal vehicles and the wage package being offered.
Community Living Campbellford Brighton management had locked out some employees earlier yesterday.
Striking workers provide support for adults with intellectual disabilities in east Northumberland County.
