City of Belleville staff had warned there would be few bidders to do Phase 3 of the downtown revitalization project, and, in fact, there was only one.
Len Corcoran Excavating, the contractor that did phases 1 and 2, offered the only tender, and at its meeting Monday, city council will be asked to accept it.
The tender was for $11.8 million plus HST, leading to a net cost to city taxpayers of $12 million.
That is within council’s budget for the project.
Phase 3 runs from Bridge to Dundas on Front Street and involves work on Bridge between Coleman and Pinnacle Streets.
