Loyalist College is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Loyalist College Skills Competition. Over 80 competitors from five school boards competed on Tuesday, March 7. Up to $16,000 in tuition bursaries were presented to the top competitors in first place ($1,000), second place ($600) and third place ($400) rankings. The bursaries will be applied as a credit toward tuition fees when recipients register in a full-time program at Loyalist between September 2017 and 2019.

Skills and technology students entering Loyalist College can apply for The W. Garfield Weston Foundation Fellowship, which provides up to $4,000 plus a tuition credit. Loyalist College is now accepting applications for the Fall 2017 Fellowship intake. The application deadline for students beginning post-secondary programs is August 22, 2017. As a society, we need skilled workers, particularly in emerging labour markets such as architecture and building sciences, automotive, electrical, welding and manufacturing. In Loyalist’s Bay of Quinte Skills Centre, a technology and trades training centre of choice for Southeastern Ontario, students learn to prepare for in-demand jobs in these fields.
