The Hastings Prince Edward School Board will now play the waiting game on renovations and expansion at Marmora Senior School.
At Monday night’s board meeting, trustees were updated on the process to amalgamate students at Earl Prentice and Marmora Senior.
Superintendent Nick Pfeiffer told trustees their submission is in the hands of the Ministry of Education and that they cannot proceed to tender, until they get the okay.
Pfeiffer says this is a typical process for a new school build or renovation project.
Pfeiffer says they are looking at $4.7 million worth of work on the site.
Renos include updating classrooms, changing the gym into a learning commons and library, building a new larger gym, along with providing space for 133 more students.
There will also be money for the boiler, roofing, windows, wiring and plumbing as well.
