A Marmora man has been fined $1,500 for an offence under the Public Lands Act.
The man plead guilty to filling shore lands without a permit.
In addition, he received a court order to remove the fill in a manner approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Court heard that a conservation officer found that between June 1, 2016, and September 9, 2016, work was carried out on an area of Crowe Lake, located in Belmont Township, Peterborough County.
An area approximately 29 feet long by 12 feet wide in front of the man’s property had been filled with large rocks, gravel and sand.
Upon investigation, it was determined that he was responsible for this work.
The work was completed without the authorization of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Justice of the Peace Jane Moffatt heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Peterborough, on February 9, 2017.
