The AHL Senators and their new fans have been officially acquainted.
Hundreds of people attended an afternoon practice by the club, returning from a game in Toronto, with about half of those fans taking part in a meet and greet with fans.
Players gave Quinte area fans their first taste of what AHL hockey is like.
Senators GM Randy Lee tells Quinte News it was an impressive showing by the fans.
Sens Captain and OHL alumnus Mike Blunden (brother Stephen played for the Belleville Bulls) told media he was impressed by the turn out and by the plans for upgrades to Yardmen Arena, which were shown to players before the skate.
Members of the team’s front office and coaching staff also took part in a “Q and A” session with fans, as they got a chance to learn more about the club.
Senators Goalie Coach and former Belleville Bull Kory Kooper says it was great to be back in the Friendly City.
Belleville Mayor Taso Christopher says the area showed the team what great fans they are.
The B-Sens next game is Friday in Binghamton, against the Toronto Marlies.
