The unemployment rate in our part of the province has dropped dramatically in the past year.
In fact, the unemployment rate in the Statistics Canada economic region known as “Kingston-Pembroke”, which includes the Quinte area, was the lowest in the province for January.
The rate was just 4 percent.
In January of last year, the unemployment rate for this part of Ontario was much higher, at 6.7 percent.
The provincial unemployment rate for January was 6 percent, while the national rate was 6.8 percent.
