Prince Edward County is off to a good start, as far as building goes, in 2017.
A total of 41 permits were issued last month, with a value of more than $4.66 million.
That’s a huge jump from January 2016, when 16 permits were issued, at a value of $1.38 million.
While no specific projects are accounting for the increase, Chief Building Official Andy Harrison tells Quinte News, many builders submitted their designs early, to avoid some energy efficiency-related building code changes which went into effect on January 1st.
