The front doors of Belleville city hall will re-open to the public Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. after months of being closed during construction.
The city closed the front entrance in October to allow modifications to the elevator, and expanded foyer footage to improve accessibility to city hall.
City council decided to lower the elevator to the entrance floor to meet provincial standards for accessibility.
Chief Building Official Ted Maracek says the doors will re-open but the elevator won’t be operational.
Maracek says there has been a slight delay in the elevator work, but he expects it to be completed next week.
