In Provincial Jr. C play last night, a miserable season for the Campbellford Rebels continued in an 8-1 loss to the Gananoque Islanders.
The still winless Rebels got their only goal from Austin Vallier on a shorthanded, unassisted play.
Brandon Soucy and Adam McCormack split the net in the defeat.
Tonight, it’s the backend of the home and home from Gananoque, game time 7 p.m. Also, the Picton Pirates will travel to Amherstview to take on the Jets. That game will start at 7:30.
And it’s a busy day today for our local OJHL teams. The Trenton Golden Hawks hit the road to face the Lindsay Muskies for a 2 p.m. puck drop. Broadcast time on CJBQ and CJBQ.com is 1:50 for Eastern Overhead Doors with Tim Durkin. The Wellington Dukes meanwhile, will head to the GTA for a 3 p.m. date with the North York Rangers.
In minor hockey yesterday, the Harmony Homes Minor Peewee AE Jr. Bulls took a tough decision away from a game against the Pickering Panthers, losing 7-2.
Nicholas Hibbert and Christian Streek scored for the Jr. Bulls, with Gavin Skinner recording a pair of assists and Thomas Vandervoort adding a single helper.
Braeden Reid was in net for Belleville.
