The County is offering a letter of support to a group aiming to increase affordable housing options for seniors.
Two weeks ago, Emmanuel Baptist Church requested a letter of support for a funding application to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation in order to explore the potential of building a 50 to 100 room co-housing development.
On Thursday, the committee of the whole carried a motion in favour of writing the letter of support that will help the group move forward with the CMHC application process to obtain seed funding for a feasibility study and offset some of the soft costs in the early stages of developing a housing project.
